Xerox and its partner WaterWare Internet Services, Inc., helped the U.S. Pretrial Services in Los Angeles, a division of the U.S. District Court, reduce paper usage by 50 percent with a Case Management Organizer. As case numbers are entered into a Web site, the system generates a pre-set collection of DocuShare folders that store all pertinent information. DocuShare then automatically notifies members of the court network when a new case is in the system. The solution allows employees to instantly access the critical case information they need and significantly reduces dependence on hard copy documents - resulting in a nearly paperless office.

Authorized parties, such as judges and court clerks, can communicate instantly through the solution's online message board and calendar.
